...An article appeared in Bike magazine featuring the 'exploits' of a group of Yamaha RD LC thrashers...

Little did they know it would herald the beginning for The Cult of Elsie!

Seeing as a lot of people were asking to read the article again, and 4th generation photocopies dont read too well... the idea for a 'web-based' version of the article was born.

S'pose you'd like to read it then? Well, you soon can - the 'Final Assembly' of the web pages HAS begun - again...yes, yes, we know it's taking longer than waiting for Customer Services on your local Phone Companies automated system, but life gets in the way, y'know!

Meanwhile, you can peruse these few pages, should keep you all amused while we finish the article.

Well, after yet more emails (and even a phone call!) we'll be hard at work again soon to bring the site bang up-to-date. Original pics have been processed, old tattered photocopies have been deciphered, and much coffee brewed & drunk. The end is in site - check back often to see how far we have got! & thanks for all your support, couldn't have done it with out you etc etc.

Who is Elsie?

Not a 'who' a 'what'... it's the nickname for the Yamaha RD LC series of Motorcycles: LC is pronounced 'Elsie'... geddit? good.

Why the Cult of Elsie?

It was the title of an article by Mac McDiarmid in the October issue of Bike magazine way back in 1985. This site has been set up with the help of Bike magazine, Mac McDiarmid (words) & Tony Sleep (pictures) to allow the members of the RD Forum (see Links for the Temporary Forum) to view that article in an 'electronic' version - magazines dont photocopy terribly well, especially a copy of a copy...

More info...

If you have any LC related material, picutres etc, that has not been seen on the web before, don't keep it to yourself! send it to me, and I'll put it up for all to see in the Gallery... and yes, it is working... go see!
